This morning I had another no show patient. Wednesday clinic days are starting to become bad days. The patient that I had scheduled and no showed this morning was actually the same one that did this to me two weeks ago. I guess I'm stupid for rescheduling her. Yesterday I was trying to call and confirm her appointment and she wouldn't answer her phone. I didn't want to leave a message because thats what I did last time and she said she forgot. I called a couple of times trying to get a hold of her and finally resorted to leaving her a message. I had a feeling that she wouldn't show up and was stressing out about who I could call if she didn't come in the morning.
I had everything all set up in my operatory and the other girls were starting to bring their patients back. It was about 8:05 and I decided I better start trying to find someone else to come in. I texted my sister-in-law hoping that she would be off work today but of course I wasn't that lucky. At 8:15 I knew my patient wasn't coming so I headed to the resource list. I called a few people and none of them could come in right away. Finally I found a patient that said she could come in whenever. I called her and she said she could be to the clinic in about 25 minutes. Good enough.
I was pretty proud of what I was able to get done in the hour that I had with my patient. I was able to go through her health history, take 4 BWX and 2 PAs, and complete an OD. She was a class 1B which is exactly what I need. I was hoping to be able to reschedule her to come back and complete the cleaning but she starts school on Monday in Orem and lives with her son down there during the week. NO! I did all that work today and won't really get any credit for anything except the x-rays. It's nice to have one more of those requirements done but I really needed the four quads of class 1B. Oh well, hopefully I will be able to get another 1B scheduled soon and possible complete the whole OD and cleaning in one day. Wish me luck!
