A Rough Day

  • 8:00 am-No patient
  • 8:15 am- Called patient to see if she was on her way.  No answer.  Left message.
  • 8:20 am-Started calling patients from the list begging people to come in ASAP.
  • 8:30 am-Someone answered their phone and was able to come in.  Told me he wouldn't be able to get here till about 9:15.
  • 8:30-9:15 am-Wandered around clinic looking for things to do.
  • 9:20 am-Patient finally showed up.  I hurried and went through his health history and took x-rays.  My x-rays were almost perfect.  I guess if I am rushing through them I can take them better than trying to go slow and make sure I have everything lined up.
  • 10:00 am-Started the exam and cleaning.  I thought he would be a pretty easy patient without a lot of build-up so I used the ultrasonic, hand instrumented a little then polished and flossed him, thinking I had done a great job.
  • 11:00 am-Dr. Hanson came over to check my patient.  I basically didn't even clean his mouth at all.  I left so much build-up.  Dr. Hanson had to finish cleaning my patient because it was almost time for lunch.
  • 11:30-12:15- Lunch
  • 12:30 pm-Guess what? No patient again!
  • 12:45 pm-Called patient.  She had a flat tire and was trying to find someone to change it for her.  Told her if she is here by 1:30 I can still see her today.
  • 2:50 pm-Patient never showed up this afternoon.  It's been a LONG day!
